Marana

Marana is a growing community that has everything you need

Marana was formally incorporated in 1977, and it's been booming ever since. Convenient to I10 without being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Tucson itself, Marana is a beautiful town of around 62,000. The local government always has its eye on the future, with plans for growth and better serving their constituents.

New construction and resale homes provide lots of excellent housing with a healthy mix of older, established neighborhoods and growing new communities. Whether you want an active adult community such as Sunflower or something a little busier like Continental Ranch, you can find it here. There are many small and larger parks with sports fields, playgrounds, dog areas, and splash pads. Newly opened in 2025, the Marana Aquatic and Recreation Center has a beautiful pool plus many other amenities for the community--the Marana Parks and Recreation always has great activities in the works. Just as one example, the annual fireworks show is not only breathtaking, but it's always well-planned to account for the extra traffic--and we rarely set anything on fire!

You can't talk about Marana without pointing out its excellent schools. Many are award-winning with passionate educators and highly involved families. Marana Unified School District is pretty well-funded, and there are also private and charter options available. Even if you don't plan to have children yourself, good schools always add future resale value.

Marana is a growing town with abundant options for retail and health care. There are plenty of grocery stores, shopping centers, and, of course, restaurants. You can catch an express bus to take you down to Tucson, but you will probably want a car for local commuting, even with bike lanes and sidewalks throughout the area. Traffic isn't terrible, though.
